About this event
Monthly Hybrid Meeting
Dr Mary Lou West KC2NMC will be presenting on “How the Tonga Volcano Explosion Disturbed the Ionosphere, and How Ham Radio Contacts Showed It”. Volcanoes affect our planet in various ways. One impact that has only recently been studied is their effect on the
ionosphere. In this presentation we will look at the physical characteristics of the Tonga volcano, its global impact, and the world wide effect from the pressure waves and sonic waves. We will examine the effects on the ionosphere. Join us as we look at ham radio contacts, the volcanic plume and the F layer.
